We would like to announce and congratulate Lucy from Mumbleberry, on behalf of the Wilston Village was successful in applying for The Lord Mayor’s Precinct Promotion Fund. This fund invites business leaders, businesses, and trader groups to apply for sponsorship for events and activations that create lively and vibrant local business areas.

The Wilston Village Facebook and Instagram have been born and we encourage you to follow both pages and see the wonderful and fantastic business the Village has to offer.

Brooks and Stain

Brooks and Stain is a small family-run restaurant. They offer fresh, house-cooked meals and source their produce from local markets and suppliers where possible. Next time you are on Kedron Brook Road you can enjoy a delicious breakfast, lunch, or dinner and great Italian coffee. Their cake cabinet is “famous” for its cakes as they are not the run-of-the-mill café cakes but cooked multiple times per week to ensure freshness and variety.

Brooks and Stain is the place to enjoy a delicious meal in a relaxed and friendly environment. Did you know they are now open for dinner two nights per week!! Come down this Thurs & Fri and try out their delicious warm dinners. The menu changes weekly, so keep a look out on their Facebook for the most up-to-date menu.

We were recently selected as one of 8 finalists in the “ACADA Australasian Haute Couture Wedding Cake Designer of the year” for 2021 at the International Cake expo and previously received the “ACADA Australasian Rising Star” for 2019, which we are so thankful to be considered amongst some of Australia’s best in the Industry.

Namu Leather Goods is owned and run by Whale and Christine, since 2018. Recently they opened their new shop in Alderley, it’s a studio, shop, filter coffee and tea bar. They design and hand make all their products including stitching, so each item has its own unique and special detail.

“Namu // 나무 | means tree in Korean, it was decided that this would be our name, as we wished for our business to sprout, grow and branch out like a tree. We also hope that our products resemble the nature of trees, by lasting for a long time and revealing its charm, characteristics, and value as it ages.”

Pieces sold at Namu include: pouches, wallets, camera accessories, bags, and many more. We occasionally combine up-cycled materials and collaborate with local artists and makers to create one-off pieces.

Namu is also currently holding workshops where you can learn to make your own pouch or cardholder and learn the basic techniques. For more information, visit their website and click the shop button.

Wounded Heroes Op Shop

Wounded Heroes Australia was established to provide emergency solutions to assist in solving the growing homeless veteran problem in Australia. They not only assist homeless veterans but also partners and children of veterans, where other community services are not immediately available and before support from Veteran’s Affairs commences. Their Op Shop in Alderley is completely run by volunteers, 100% of the profits from purchases and donations help fund Wounded Heroes programs, that transform lives for the better. Come down to the Op Shop today and discover hundreds of donated one off items and add to your collection, your support will help veterans and their families.You can also donate your time or items, from clothing to homewares, even white goods and furniture.

Enoggera Flowers has served Brisbane and it’s surroundings for 20 + years, it was established back in 1999 and owned by Deanna since 2016. Enoggera Flowers have a strict “buy local” policy. They source flowers from local, statewide, and then interstate flower growers. This also includes small-batch artisan items such as cards, scented candles, & chocolates which are all handmade, right here in Brisbane.

Crema Coffee Garage

Each Wednesday we will feature a local business in The Enoggera Ward and this week’s local business is Crema Coffee Garage located at 240 South Pine Road, Enoggera.

They have just launched their new café Tank Stream Social. The name is a nod to the owners Tim Peters’ Ancestry, his Great Grandfather Austin was a coffee & tea merchant in Marin Place, Sydney. Beneath the streets of Martin Place lays a heritage-listed sandstone reservoir known as the ‘Tank Stream’ was a freshwater supply at the time for the fledgling colony of New South Wales in the Late 18th Century.

Enjoy your very own little slice of Italy, right here in Brisbane! Dive into a perfectly made coffee while you stroll through our piazza-style showroom, browsing their cafe menu, coffee machines, brewing equipment, and more. If you’ve ever visited Crema before, you’ll know they are serious about their coffee.
