New community open space park at Cramond St, Wilston
Having the best parks and public spaces is part of my commitment to making Enoggera Ward an even better place to live.
Many residents have asked what the future holds for the Cramond Street site following the Voluntary Home Buy-Back Scheme. With the former homes now removed, we are taking the next step towards delivering a new community open space for our neighbourhood.
This is an exciting opportunity to create a welcoming local park where residents can relax, enjoy the outdoors, and connect with one another. Importantly, Council is committed to keeping this land as public open space so it can be enjoyed by the community for years to come.
Given the area’s flood-prone nature, any future park improvements will be carefully designed to be flood resilient, ensuring the space remains practical, sustainable and able to recover quickly following flood events. Some examples of low-impact, flood-resilient park features include park benches and seating, picnic tables, bins, shade trees and landscaping, open lawn areas for recreation and walking paths.
As planning for the site progresses, I would like to hear from local residents about the types of features you would value most in this new community space. Please take the time to complete the survey below and have your say.
Your feedback will help shape the future of this new green space and ensure it reflects the needs of the local community while considering the areas environmental and flood management requirements.
Submissions are open until 20 November 2026. Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts. I look forward to hearing your ideas and working together to create a great new community space for Wilston.
Cr Andrew Wines, Councillor for Enoggera Ward
