Brisbane City Council is committed to making our parks and green spaces the best they can be. That is why we have allocated significant funding to replace flood-damaged equipment near the creek in Spencer Park, Newmarket. Moving forward, as equipment reaches end of life, or is damaged by flood waters, it will also be removed, replaced, and potentially relocated within the same park.
As part of this new policy to make public assets more flood resilient, the playground near Foster Street will be removed, and I am seeking feedback on a new location. There are three suitable sites for a playground within the park, please see options A, B, or C:
If you would like to discuss the proposal in person, please join me at:
Date: Saturday 26 November 2022
Time: 10:00am – 11:00am
Venue: Corner Vivienne St & Edmondstone St, Newmarket
I am also seeking feedback on what sorts of equipment you would like to see, or any other ideas you have for this park and playground.
I would appreciate your feedback by Wednesday 14 December 2022. I look forward to hearing from you so we can continue to improve our community together.
