Eildon Hill Transformation

Eildon Hill Lookout

Eildon Hill upgrades and viewing platform is officially completed and open to the public.

Last Friday the work on Eildon Hill was finalised for the new and improved Eildon Hill Reserve. I walked along some of the new walking trails built along the northern side of the hill. It’s fantastic to see the project completed and how different it looked like before.

This project was completed in two separate stages.

Stage one: New viewing deck with seating;- Selective minor trimming of vegetation to allow views of the surrounding area;- Upgraded section of the existing walk trails – including seats;- New waste bins installed.

Stage two:- Repair to the stairs from Constitution Road to new walking trail;- Installation of a new walking trail and signs;- Drainage works to facilitate the new walking trailer- New rest area with views to Moreton Bay;- Repair existing roadway surface to improve pedestrian safety.

This project is a part of the Schrinner Councils’ commitment to creating more to see and do in our city by delivering new walking trails and lookout upgrades. Do yourself a favour and take the walking trail up to see the new facility.

MOGGILL RD CORRIDOR

One of my first announcements as the new chair of the infrastructure committee was to expand the scope of the Indooroopilly roundabout project, to include all of councils controlled Moggill Rd. The demolition of the old buildings at the Indooroopilly roundabout is one of the last actions before work starts on the road itself.

HOWARD SMITH WHARF’S FERRY CONSTRUCTION

The new ferry stop for Howard Smith Wharves is underway, with construction well advanced. The terminal is being built using technology new to Brisbane with a water-based, spider platform, pilling rig. This has reduced the time frame for construction and the potential noise effects on neighbours. The Howard Smith Wharves ferry terminal opens within months and will make it even easier to visit this new popular part of Brisbane.
