In late 2020 I was approached by residents from your neighbourhood seeking support for a dog off-leash area (DOLA) in Enoggera. Following consultation in 2022, the project was supported and funded, and I committed to delivering a new DOLA for your community. Works were delayed due to a nation-wide materials shortage, and Council prioritising flood recovery.
I would like to thank you for your patience and understanding as unexpected issues further delayed the project. Following on-site investigations, I have been advised the two sites initially proposed no longer meet Council’s requirements for a DOLA. This reflects feedback provided last year, as many residents were not comfortable with any locations proposed and did not support installation next to existing homes.
Council have proposed a final site for consideration on the northern side of Kedron Brook bikeway:
I am seeking your feedback and will require the majority of respondents to support the proposal to install a new DOLA in your neighbourhood. This will be the final consultation, and I urge you to provide feedback so the outcome best reflects your views.
