Works to replace the Hay Street pedestrian bridge in Mitchelton are anticipated to commence on June 5.

The existing pedestrian bridge is being replaced as a result of safety concerns due to the age of the structure. The replacement bridge will improve the safety and longevity of the crossing.

Construction will take place between 7am and 6pm on Monday to Friday. However, some after hours and weekend work may also be required. Local residents in close proximity to the site may experience some construction noise associated with these works.

During construction the pedestrian bridge will be closed, however, a detour will be in place around the new bridge construction zone. I apologise for any inconvenience you may experience by the closure of this pedestrian bridge and appreciate your patience during this time.

These works are anticipated to be completed in July 2017, weather permitting.WIf you would like to discuss this project further, please do not hesitate to contact Council’s 24-hour call centre on 07 3403 8888 or Project Engineer Imran Qaiser on 0422573521.
